AyrKing, a leading manufacturer of food preparation equipment for commercial kitchens, has received a U.S. patent for its breading and sifting station design.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued AyrKing U.S. Patent No. 12,733,670. The patent covers the design used in the BBSUL1524, the compact, portable Breader Blender Sifter in the BBS Thin family.
Space is tight in many commercial kitchens. Some operators cannot fit a separate breading and sifting station. The patented design addresses that problem by placing the sifter beneath the working surface.
An operator inserts a breading lug through an opening in the work surface. A frame on the sifter holds the lug in place. The sifter and work surface stay aligned and can move as one unit.
Key features described in the patent:
- Space-saving placement: The sifter fits beneath the working surface.
- Stable setup: The lug helps prevent misalignment if someone bumps the station.
- Easy cleanup: The lug flange can sit flush with the work surface. Operators can sweep stray breading back in.
- Flexible use: The design works with refrigerated tables. Casters let operators roll the sifter into place.
“Many kitchens need to bread and sift without room for a separate station,” said Jim Bell, president of AyrKing and a named inventor. “This design puts the sifter beneath the work surface so operators save floor space.”
The patent gives AyrKing the right to exclude others from making, using, selling or importing the invention in the United States, or importing it into the country. Bell and Sam Eppehimer, vice president of sales at AyrKing, are the named inventors.
